WINEMAKER Lisa McGuigan
Low cropped, hand harvest fruit from Mudgee gave this wine its intense, rich flavours. It was crushed and destemmed to small open top fermenters. After 24 hours cold soak to draw out delicate tannins and intense colour, the grapes were hand plunged for six days to extract primary fruit flavours and firm but velvety tannins. The wine was pressed directly to French oak casks for 12 months maturation after which it was lightly fined with egg whites and sent to bottle. Best cellaring 5 to 10 years.
This Mudgee Shiraz was hand harvested and matured in French oak for 12 months. The wine displays delicious characters of blackcurrants and plums layered with firm velvet tannins. Perfect when a powerful wine is on your agenda.
